It All Begins With An Idea

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, there’s this little voice inside of you that gets all excited whenever you think about your idea - and that’s what happened to us!

It all started with the idea of “what would we do with our time and energy if money wasn’t involved?”.

For Bethany, it was about counselling psychology, and understanding how to help people heal through art and movement. For me, it was about how to help empower people with a deeper understanding of their vast and near limitless potential through Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Once we knew the answers to our own question, the seed was planted and the idea took root and started to sprout.

For us, this meant going outside our comfort zones and giving up our 9 to 5 corporate careers after more than a decade of hard work climbing the corporate ladder. There were a lot of unknowns, and as scary as it felt, it was also undeniable that we felt more excitement and creativity at the idea of bringing our own vision into reality.

So we mapped out a plan and charted our path to change and transform our 9 to 5 into our 5 to 9. It hasn’t been easy, and we’re still learning as we go. But one thing is clear to us - we’re more inspired, creative, healthier and more fulfilled than ever before!

We feel more freedom and in control of something that has real meaning for us. We’re now working for ourselves and everything we do is adding to our life, our team, our community and our business.

So how did we turn our passions into our careers? We’re still discovering that daily, and we’d like to invite you to join us on this incredible experience as we journey through it all together.

And if you’re someone that has ever thought about learning and practicing Jiu-Jitsu; or teaching and sharing Jiu-Jitsu; maybe even running and opening your own Jiu-Jitsu school someday - contact us directly by email at info@tricitiesgjj.com because we’d love to hear from you and see how we can help make that happen!
