What to expect.

Ventilation. We have a state-of-the-art, brand-new custom HVAC system that provides full air filtration, ventilation and climate control of our entire space. Fresh air is constantly exchanged and filtered so we ensure healthy air quality for everyone inside.

All guests and staff will be pre-screened for a health assessment at check-in and have non-contact temperature checks. For the safety of our community, should guests answer positively to the prescreen questions or have a temperature above 37.8C will be re-credited and asked to return another time.

Masks. Masks are optional for indoor public places for all people of all ages. When engaged in physical activity on the green mat area, masks are not required and are optional. Students, parents, and staff are not required to wear a mask or face covering when socializing and interacting with one another in all common areas. However, we recognize that some people may continue to wear their masks until they feel safer, so we ask everyone to please remain kind, respectful and understanding of each person’s unique personal needs.

No lockers or changing rooms. We have fitting room stalls with privacy dividers for everyone to change into their training attire. Students are encouraged to show up to class already dressed in their training attire but can use the fitting rooms if needed. Students can store their personal belongings in the available cubbies, coat hangers, and shoe racks provided.

Contact tracing.  We maintain a detailed record of every person that has been in the school through our online reservation system. Please ensure your phone number + email are up to date in your profile.

Don't be shy with our hand sanitizer. Please sanitize your hands at check-in or after using the washroom. All staff engage in frequent hand washing.

All shared equipment is cleaned and disinfected between use. Disinfectant wipes and spray, proven to kill COVID-19 can be provided to students after each class if requested. Students can thoroughly wipe down all parts of their personal training equipment after class. Additional cleanings throughout the day are completed by staff.

All high-touch surfaces are disinfected throughout the day. This includes our training mat, wall pads, door handles, toilet handles, tablets, and desk surfaces.

Capacity. We are currently allowed to run our school at 100% capacity, which means our regular group classes allows for 30 participants. Including students, spectators and staff our space allows for 50 people. Social distancing is not required, but please be respectful of other people's requests for personal space.

What’s Next.

Fine-tuning the solution. We will be constantly monitoring the situation and updating our processes as necessary. We will be actively following the recommendations from public health agencies as well as feedback from our valued community of students.

We are so grateful for all the support and look forward to continuing to serve whether it be virtually or in a physical space. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Staff & Student Responsibility

We are all in this together and our collective actions will help keep us safe. All staff at Tri-Cities Gracie Jiu-Jitsu are fully vaccinated with 3 doses of current government-approved vaccines for COVID-19.

If you feel sick or have any symptoms (runny nose, cough, watering eyes), please stay home. If you exhibit symptoms while in the school, for the safety of the community, you will respectfully be asked to leave and return after you’ve been symptom-free for 7 consecutive days.

If you have tested positive for Covid-19 or come into contact with someone who has, we ask that you don't come to the school for 7 consecutive days.

If you have travelled, please follow current government guidelines and do not return to the school until it is deemed safe to do so based on existing government guidelines.

Practice personal responsibility and attend at your own risk. If you are in a high-risk category or take care of someone who is, we understand that returning to Tri-Cities Gracie Jiu-Jitsu may not be the right decision at this time. By choosing to attend class at Tri-Cities Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, even with our increased safety measures, you acknowledge and accept the additional risks associated with the current global health pandemic of COVID-19.
